How HDMI Capture Works in ScopeDesk

Plug a standard HDMI capture dongle — Magewell USB Capture HDMI, AVerMedia Live Gamer, or Elgato Cam Link — into a free USB port on your Windows PC. Connect the HDMI output of your endoscopy processor to the dongle. ScopeDesk detects the input automatically and displays the live feed within seconds.

There is no proprietary driver installation, no pairing with the scope brand's software, and no cloud dependency. The HDMI signal is a universal video standard, which means ScopeDesk works identically with Olympus CV-series, Karl Storz IMAGE1 S, Pentax EPK-i, Fujifilm VP-7000, and Richard Wolf ENDOCAM — as well as every other processor with an HDMI port.

Press the SPACE key or a compatible USB foot pedal to capture the current frame to the gallery. Each captured image is linked to the active patient record. During the procedure, the doctor's focus stays on the scope — one keystroke is all it takes.

Dual-channel capture allows side-by-side and picture-in-picture layouts, useful for complex ureteroscopy or laparoscopic-endoscopic combined procedures. Resolutions up to 1080p full HD are supported.

The capture advantages that
change your daily workflow

Works with Any Scope Brand

No lock-in to proprietary software. If your processor has an HDMI port — Olympus, Karl Storz, Pentax, Fujifilm, or any other — ScopeDesk captures it. Switch scope brands without changing software.

100% Offline — Zero Data Risk

All captured frames and patient data stay on your hospital's PC. Nothing is uploaded to any external server. HDMI capture, frame storage, and report generation are fully offline operations.

One Keystroke Per Frame

The SPACE key or foot pedal captures a frame instantly without interrupting the procedure. Frames auto-link to the active patient record. Reviewing the gallery between cases takes seconds, not minutes.

We were generating reports on paper and then typing everything into Excel. ScopeDesk cut our reporting time from 20 minutes per case to under 4 minutes. In a 15-case OT day, that is nearly an hour saved — every single day.
